This year, on June 23, take the time to embrace National Hydration Day. Staying hydrated is one of the most important things we can do to keep our bodies in tip-top shape. Yes, there are many other things we can do to get our bodies in great shape but none of those will work if we aren't keeping our bodies fully hydrated. Drinking enough water can easily get lost in our busy day-to-day lives. On National Hydration Day, American Legend Homes encourages you to make it a priority! Here are four ways you can make sure you are staying hydrated:
1. Make it cute: Hydrating can be more fun when you choose a stylish cup or bottle. You can use this cup or bottle as a reminder to yourself to drink more water and carry it with you throughout the day. Every time you look at it, it’s a personal reminder to take a sip. We love this “20 Water Bottles Cute Enough To Make You Actually Drink More Water” article!
2. Set reminders: When you are in the midst of a busy day and your mind is in a million different places, there could be hours that go by without a sip of water. Sometimes the simplest thing you can do is the most helpful: set reminders! Using the reminders app or the alarm app on your phone works as a wonderful reminder to make sure you are staying hydrated. Simply by setting it for every 30 minutes, you will be able to make sure you had a successful day and stayed fully hydrated the whole time!
3. Challenge the family: If games and challenges are what motivates you, that doesn't have to stop here. You can take something as simple as drinking water and turn it into a game getting the whole family, friends, or even co-workers involved! Have everyone drink out of the same sized water bottle throughout the day and keep track of how many times they had to refill it. At the end of the day, whoever refilled their water bottle the most (a.k.a drank the largest amount of water) is the winner! (Maybe they get one of those 20 cute water bottles mentioned above as a prize!)
4. Switch it up: We all know how refreshing water can taste on a hot summer day, but if you are looking to shake things up, there is a way for you to get hydrated with just the right amount of flavor! These days you can find water flavorings at just about any grocery store in almost any flavor you could want! If you don’t want to add something to your water that you haven't tried before, you can also add some flavoring by mixing in some sliced lemon, cucumber or strawberries to get that hint of subtle flavor you are looking for!
Staying hydrated doesn’t have to be a big task that adds one more thing to your busy day. It’s something that can become a habit in your day-to-day routine. Water is what our bodies crave the most, so it’s important that we make it a priority and give our bodies what they need. American Legend Homes can't wait to see how everyone decides to embrace National Hydration Day and looks forward to seeing what creative ways you choose to stay healthy!
