Some of the best things about fall are the beautiful changing colors and cooler weather. As the temperature drops below 80 degrees, it’s the perfect time of year to venture out, embrace your artistic side and take some photos! American Legend families in Texas are lucky to have the perfect spots right around the corner.
Here are some of the best spots in the DFW area for fall photography:
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is home to some of DFW’s most beautiful gardens. Here, visitors are surrounded over 66 acres of trees, pathways and water fountains that are even more magical during autumn with Autumn at the Arboretum. The popular fall festival, which runs through November 1, highlights the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, which features four 20-foot-tall decorated pumpkin houses and creative displays fashioned from more than 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash.
Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
The Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, in the heart of the cultural district, are one of Fort Worth’s most popular destinations for fall photos. It was first established in 1934 and is the oldest major botanic garden in Texas. There are several gardens full of native Texas plants and trees, perfect for getting the perfect shot of some fall favorites like oxblood lilies, sweet autumn clematis, Mexican bush sage and marigolds.
White Rock Lake
Located just five miles northeast of downtown, White Rock Lake Park is a fan favorite for families in search of fall foliage. Picturesque hiking and biking trails highlighted by the White Rock Creek Trail allow you to explore at your own pace to find brilliant cottonwood trees at the north end of the park and much more. Take your adventure to the next level and kayak your way around the park for a great view of the fall colors on the lake or visit the Dallas Arboretum to see colorful Japanese maples.
If nature isn’t exactly your style, try your camera out in Deep Ellum. The urban and contemporary atmosphere combined with the big Texas sky make for a unique artistic adventure. The area is full of gorgeous brick walls, paintings, murals, graffiti, iconic spots and downtown views, providing an array of photographic opportunities.
