Today is National Cheeseburger Day so make your dinner plans accordingly! You can either hit up a burger joint close to your American Legend community or cook at home. The burger pros at American Legend Homes have recommendations for both!
First some cheeseburger trivia:
While hamburgers are believed to have been part of American lunches and dinners since around 1900, cheeseburgers were likely “invented” in 1924. The first one was said to have been served at The Rite Spot in Pasadena, California, when a teenager named Lionel Sternberger placed a piece of American cheese on a burger at his father’s sandwich shop. It was a hit…but we’ve come a long way from just a slice of American cheese!
Now, fire up the grill in your gorgeous outdoor living space, set up your spacious kitchen island with all the condiments and get cooking! Here are our favorite cheeseburgers:
Hatch Chile Smash Burgers: Hatch chiles are having their moment and rightly so. These cheesy, spicy, crunchy burgers bring a spicy queso to your burger. And the brioche buns are the perfect top-off!
Classic Cheeseburger with Secret Sauce: This sauce takes any basic cheeseburger to the next level. And since you probably already have all of the ingredients in your pantry, it’s easy to whip together! Here’s what it takes: mayo, ketchup, garlic powder, spicy pickle juice, dried dill, fresh lime, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and mustard. (Yum!)
Don’t feel like cooking? Our favorite burgers are at The Grind Burger Bar, with locations in both Castle Hills and McKinney, means they’re close to our Castle Hills, Star Trail and The Grove Frisco communities. We highly recommend The Grind’s Shroom & Swiss Burger with swiss, horseradish aioli, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and baby spinach. Or if you’re feeling a little spicy, try the Guac Burger with jalapeno jack cheese, guacamole, bacon, a hand-battered jumbo onion ring, baby greens and a whole grilled jalapeno.
Whether you decide to enjoy your cheeseburgers at home or at a burger place close to home, grab a couple of your American Legend neighbors and celebrate together. We all need to give cheeseburgers the respect they deserve today!
