Colorado Parks and Wildlife has leased Boedecker Reservoir for recreation from Consolidated Home Supply Ditch and Reservoir Co. for about four decades and counting after agreeing to a new 10-year lease. Families will be able to continue fishing, hunting and wakeless boating at one of the city’s favorite natural areas. In May, the city of Loveland opened a new natural area on the north shore of Boedecker, near the state wildlife area, to fishing, wildlife viewing and hiking. With 17 acres, Boedecker Bluff can be accessed on foot from Rossum Drive and West First Street. It offers one mile of soft-surface trail, shoreline access, majestic views and the opportunity for wildlife watching.
