Building on the Boulevard: Celebrating 20 Years of the Meadows’s New Home
Every Sunday between April 11 and June 20 at SMU’s Meadows Museum, Highland Park
Over the last 20 years, the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University has marveled visitors. "Building on the Boulevard: Celebrating 20 Years of the Meadows's New Home" is a tribute to the achievements made possible by the vital structure. The exhibition will feature architectural drawings and renderings as well as commemorative installations and materials celebrating the impressive international loan exhibitions, innovations in educational programming, and other significant milestones for the museum.
Water Lantern Festival
April 10 at Panther Island Pavilion, Fort Worth
Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope and great memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family-friendly event that can be shared by everyone. Friends, families, neighbors and lots of people who you haven't met can come together to create a peaceful, memorable experience. Each adult ticket comes with wristband entry into the festival area with food trucks, a floating lantern kit, LED candle, commemorative drawstring bag, marker, lantern retrieval and clean up.
April 17-18 at I.M. Terrell Auditorum, Fort Worth
Join Ballet Frontier April 17th & 18th for La Sylphide, a timeless, ethereal ballet of love & loss. Ballet Frontier’s production of La Sylphide will also include excerpts of Diana & Actaeon and audience favorite, Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet, by Artistic Director Chung Lin Tseng.
Avance Latino Street Fest
April 25 at Klyde Warren Park, Dallas
The AVANCE Latino Street Fest is a family event to celebrate the vibrant Latino culture in North Texas. It is the largest event of its kind to showcase Latino talent in dancing and singing contests, live music, mariachi, delicious food and more. Since its inception in 2014, the festival has continued to grow over the years and has now become a signature event in the Dallas area.
Intangible at Sweet Tooth Hotel
Daily through Jun 6 at Sweet Tooth Hotel, Dallas
Explore eleven colorfully immersive installations, created with more than two million feet of yarn. As you walk from room to room, new adventures await you in this exhibit created by some of the top female fiber artists in the nation. "Intangible" showcases an all-female lineup of some of the top fiber artists from around the United States.
Stockyards Championship Rodeo
Weekly on Friday and Saturday at Cowtown Coliseum, Fort Worth
The Stockyards Championship Rodeo is held in the historic Cowtown Coliseum and is the world’s only year-round rodeo. Rodeos are held nearly every Friday and Saturday night. We are home of the world’s first indoor rodeo. The rodeo features timed events such as tie-down roping, breakaway roping, team roping and barrel racing. It also offers the excitement of rough stock events like bull riding, bronc riding, bareback and ranch saddle bronc riding.
