Football season is approaching and here in Texas, we want to make sure everyone has the tips and tricks on how to do a football game right! No matter if it’s a high school or college game, or your favorite NFL team, here are some ways to show off your tailgating skills and make every game a good time. So grab your American Legend neighbors and have fun at the game!
1. First things first...FOOD!
Every tailgate needs some proper finger food that everyone can enjoy! This could be healthy snacks, fried food, grilling out or some sweet treats! One of the easiest ways to make everyone's bellies happy is with a pre-made veggie tray, some cookies or cupcakes from the store, or a tray of nuggets from your local Chick-fil-A. If you want more “homemade” snacks, our spacious American Legend kitchens are the perfect place to put those together! Here are some tailgating recipes that Food Network recommends.
2. The games before the game
Finding things to do while waiting for the game to start is easy. Bring your own football and pass it around, play some cornhole, or bring a mini putt-putt green and play a little miniature golf! There are no wrong answers. It is all about having fun and finding something for everyone to enjoy!
3.Time to decorate!
One thing that must be obvious while tailgating is what team you are cheering for! The best way to do this is by decorating your tailgate section in full team spirit! Team colors are the first major give-away about who you are cheering for and can be shown off with something as simple as the color of the cups you are passing around. Here are some top decorating ideas from Taste of Home.
There is no exact science to the art of tailgating but no matter the level, the main point of tailgating is gathering with friends and cheering for the team and players you love. The food, games and decorations are just some fun ways to spice things up. American Legend Homes can't wait to see our communities come together and support one another as all our favorite teams face off!
