1.  Aurora, Colorado: Kilwins

Kilwins, an institution since the 1940s, has everything from caramel and chocolate to ice cream! The original caramel recipes were created by Don Kilwin and are still made the same way today: using traditional copper kettles for the perfect combination of soft, creamy AND chewy. Whether you are looking for traditional milk caramels or the always-popular Kilwins Bear Claw (our personal favorite!), Kilwins has it all. 

2. Loveland, Colorado: Sunny Jim’s Candy Ranch

This old-timey candy store is family-owned and operated. One of its most popular items, the Rocky Mountain Frogs, is a chocolate-covered caramel chew. YUM! The store offers a variety of candies that are homemade and includes even sugar-free options so everyone can enjoy a sweet treat. The candies aren't the only treat you get in this shop though. The owners go out of their way to make sure everyone who walks through the door has a wonderful experience from start to finish. 

3. Timnath, Colorado: Colorado Candy Company

The Colorado Candy Company offers small batches of a variety of unique candies! They only use natural flavors and no added preservatives in everything they serve. The store specializes in seasonal treats, chewy caramels, rich chocolate truffles and old-school treats like hard candy, brittle, ribbon candy and even candy art for special events! This local candy store truly has it all! 

4. Windsor, Colorado: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

This candy store features a number of caramel options for customers to choose from, including seasonal recipes, all made in an old-fashioned copper kettle! But they are best known for their caramel apples, made in-store and baked fresh daily. Go with a traditional caramel candy apple or enjoy a pecan caramel apple. Kids love the candy apple covered in M&M’s but the English toffee caramel apple is our favorite! It’s a perfect fall treat!
