The easy process of building an American Legend home

Building a home can be overwhelming, but at American Legend, we want to make it as easy and pain-free as possible so you can look forward to settling into your brand-new dream home. Our team of professionals will guide you every step of the way to ensure the process is smooth from start to finish.

Here is a quick overview to the American Legend home buying process:

1. Preparation
   Before you begin your home search, it’s important to prepare your financial paperwork to determine your ideal budget and down payment. When you secure a pre-approval letter, you can be sure you are shopping in a realistic range and streamline your loan application process. You’re free to shop around for the mortgage lender of your choice but we invite you to explore your options with our trusted full-service financial lenders, Fairway Mortgage in Texas and Academy Mortgage in Colorado. 
2. Select your home site and floor plan
   Once you’ve determined your budget and selected the perfect American Legend Homes community, the fun begins. Now you can choose your floor plan design and the site where your home will be built. Each of our communities offers a range of floor plans that allow you to personalize to suit your unique lifestyle.
3. Contract, Financing and Start
   After you complete your purchase contract with your sales associate, it’s time to select your lender and submit your pre-approval letter within five business days of signing the contract. Once this is complete, a production coordinator will order your blueprints, foundation design, plot plan and construction financing. As long as deadlines are adhered to and municipalities are on time, we aim to begin building every home within 60 days of contract. 
4. Meet with the Design Gallery
   Next, a Design Gallery expert will contact you to schedule your design appointments. Here you will explore a vast selection of beautiful countertops, backsplashes, cabinets, flooring, fixtures and appliances. This is where you will begin to see your home reflect your individual style!
5. Watch your home come to life
   Your personal builder will be your main contact throughout the construction process. They will keep you informed of the progress on your home through regular updates and on-site meetings and walkthroughs. 
6. Close, fund and receive your keys
   You’re almost done! About a week before your closing appointment, you’ll attend a new homebuyer orientation where you’ll do a final walkthrough with your builder and learn how to operate and maintain the systems and appliances in your new home. Once your closing paperwork is completed and your loan has been funded, you’re officially an American Legend homeowner! 
7. After moving day
   Our Customer Care Program can help you maintain your peace of mind long after moving in. Your Warranty Service Manager will be your primary contact for any questions or concerns you may have now and in the future.
