We asked our construction team out in the field some quick rapid fire questions! Check out their professional input/insights, their must-haves on the job, and what extreme Texas weather they prefer to build in!

Do you prefer coffee or energy drinks on a long working day?
Nader: Both.
Landry: Red bull.
Blake: Coffee.
Trey: Yes.
Mike: I drink one maybe two cups of coffee and that's it. No energy drinks here.
Curtis: Energy drinks.
What is the most satisfying stage of a build?
Landry: Probably after paint, that's where you start to see the house really coming along.
Blake: Stage 10.
Trey: 10. It's done and I can move on to the next one.
Mike: Anywhere between 6 or 8 for me. There's something about getting the final grade done after the flatwork is poured, and it's starting to look like a home.
Curtis: Final grade.

Would you prefer to build a home in the summer or winter?
Nader: Both actually.
Landry: Probably summer.
Blake: Summer.
Trey: It's Texas, definitely not summer.
Mike: Spring or Fall!
Curtis: Summer.
What's one tool you can't live without?
Nader: My phone.
Landry: A tape measurer. Use it everyday.
Blake: A drill.
Trey: A BFH: big freaking hammer!
Mike: My eyes! I've trained them well to notice good work, and ensuring a homeowner gets the very best.
Curtis: All of 'em.

What is your favorite part about your job?
Nader: The homeowners.
Landry: Closing a house.
Curtis: The people.
Blake: The homeowners.
Trey: Getting to work outside regularly and seeing new homes come together.
Mike: Just delivering a home. I know what my home means to me, and when I get to deliver a home, especially to a first-time homebuyer, it's really special. It still brings me a lot of joy after all these years.
