5 ways to celebrate International Women’s Day with American Legend Homes

Today is International Women’s Day and here at American Legend Homes, we are excited to celebrate everything about the wonderful women in our community! If you have a mom, sister, significant other, or even a female best friend, today is the day to show them how much you appreciate them. Here are American Legend’s top five ways to celebrate the women in your life today:

1. Host a film screening: Watching movies that have been directed by women and feature a strong female cast is a great way to observe International Women’s Day! You can keep it intimate with just the family or invite some friends over to enjoy the movies with you. Here is a list of some movies that would be perfect for this special day (especially in your American Legend media room!).

2. Organize a self-care event: Self-care should always be a priority and is a great way to pamper yourself while juggling all the other crazy aspects of your life. On this International Women’s Day, hosting a self-care event for the women in your family or a group of female friends is a wonderful way to spend time together and show appreciation for everything the women in your life do. 

3. Invite friends to a women’s book club: By starting a women’s book club, you can take time to read, understand and analyze what important and influential female writers have to say. You could also invite a local female author to speak at one of the meetings to learn more about what it takes to be a successful female author. Here is a list of must-read books written by women. 

4. Celebrate with a women’s night out: Not everyone will have the time to plan a film screening or a self-care event but that doesn’t mean you can’t take the time to celebrate International Women’s Day. Your women’s night out could be as simple as getting a small group of your closest female friends together at your American Legend home. Take an hour to sit around and deep dive into conversations about women’s contributions in the workplace, home and community.

5. Advocate for women: You don’t have to be a woman to show your support on International Women’s Day (and long thereafter!). Celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and advocate for gender equality. Make sure the people in your life are aware of what today is and what it means to celebrate women and International Women’s Day. 

Today is a day to be celebrated and to recognize the accomplishments of the women in our lives and in our community.
