July 30: Stages 7 and 8 of building your American Legend home

We’ve already talked about construction stages 0, 1 and 2, stages 3 and 4 and stages 5 and 6 in our blog. If you’ve gotten through stage 6, wood floors have been nailed down and interior details like cabinets, doors, trim and stairs have been installed. Now let’s look at stages 7 and 8.

Stage 7

  • Here, many of your home’s most beautiful design options will be installed. The kitchen and bathroom countertops are set, tile selections and floors are laid and light and plumbing fixtures are installed.
  • Equally important, insulation is blown into attic spaces and installation and final trim of critical systems like electrical, plumbing, AC and HVAC are finished.
  • Inspections to obtain the final electric and gas meter on the home are conducted.

Stage 8

  • Stage 8 shifts the focus to your home’s exterior – gutters and drainage systems are installed, the exterior is painted and a final lot grading is done to prepare for sod and landscape.
  • If applicable, irrigation systems and fencing are complete.
  • Final interior items including mirrors, shower enclosures, appliances and carpet are installed.
  • Your construction manager will conduct final inspections with the city and will complete a punch list of items to ensure your home is completely finished.
