Raise a glass with American Legend Homes

May 25, 2022

Raise a glass with American Legend Homes

On May 25 all across the country, wine lovers will celebrate National Wine Day with a toast and a glass of red or white wine. Some people will do this at home, some in a bar or restaurant. Why not mix it up and acknowledge the day at a local winery. Many people don’t think of North Texas as a place with wineries but there are quite a few very close to your American Legend home. Here are the local wineries we love to visit:

Sunset Winery in Burleson is a quick 20 minutes from our M3 Ranch community in Mansfield. Sunset Wines is a charming winery that offers not only quality wines but extensive wine education, tours and unique events. Our favorite Sunset wine is the Twilight Tango Malbec, aged in French oak barrels, with hints of both vanilla and chocolate. It pairs beautifully with beef!

Since you’re already in Burleson, pop into the Lost Oak Winery. This 52-acre winery is the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic and share a bottle of wine. Our favorite experience here is the guided tasting accompanied by a delicious cheeseboard. This local winery also has a full calendar of events and is a great spot to host an event.

The Messina Hof Winery in Grapevine is the winery’s first urban setting (you can visit other locations throughout Texas). This location is just 25 minutes from both The Tribute and Castle Hills. It features multiple tasting areas with 40 different wines, tastings, flights, wine by the glass, gourmet food items and more. Its charming setting is the historic Wallis Hotel, built in 1891.

Eden Hill Vineyard is a 10-acre estate where guests can visit a tasting room and tour the Tempranillo vineyard. Choose to sit indoors at the Cellar Bar or outside on the patio. Bring a picnic or order something from the food menu. Eden Hill Vineyard is located in Celina, just 10 miles from Light Farms and 13 miles from Star Trail.

The Landon Winery in McKinney offers live music, weekend festivals, wine dinners, art classes and food pairings. Prefer not to leave the comforts of your American Legend home? They even host virtual wine tastings! Landon Winery has been recognized with hundreds of awards for its wines and is just 15-20 minutes from The Grove Frisco.

North Texas is becoming one of the hottest areas for new vineyards. And living in an American Legend Homes community means easy access to several wineries. Of course, one of the best parts of visiting the winery is bringing home your wine purchases to enjoy in your American Legend home. So, invite your American Legend neighbors over and raise a glass to all of our local wineries!
